THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF TEA:
Tea (derived from the plant Camellia Sinensis) comes in three main processed varieties called, BLACK TEA, GREEN TEA and OOLONG TEA. The method of processing the leaf distinguishes the three types.

Black Tea
The process used making black tea has various names such as: withering, rolling, fermenting, firing and is also known as the oxidation method.

Green Tea
The Green tea is processed by steaming or heating the leaves immediately after plucking. This prevents the fermentation that makes the black tea. The leaves are then rolled and dried.

Oolong tea
The Oolong tea is made through partial fermentation. The leaves are left to wilt naturally and the enzymes within the leaves start the fermentation process. The fermentation is then interrupted by adding the leaves to heated pans and stirring them. The leaves are then rolled and dried.

Flavoured Tea – Is made by adding a flavour to black or green tea.

Scented Tea - A flavour or scent is sprayed onto black or green tea.

Spiced Tea - In spiced tea you can see little particles of spice in black tea.

Herbal Tea - The tea professionals prefer to use the term "tea" only to drinks brewed from the leaves of the "Camellia Sinensis" plant. Infusing or steeping the leaves of the herbs in hot water makes the herbal tea. This could be better described as an "herbal infusion".
