The methods of Tea cultivation.

Conventional

Over 100 years ago the pioneer planters of tea, (Camellia Sinensis), cleared vast areas of virgin forest for tea plantations. This led to a number of negative environmental impacts such as loss of topsoil and the chemical pollution that followed by the use of artificial fertilizers. This method of growing tea is known as the “Conventional tea Cultivation”.

Organic

This is a tea plantation that was once a “Conventional” plantation, and then converted back to an “Organic Tea Plantation”. This is a very slow process and its take approximately 2-3 years for the conversion to be completed. An Organic Tea Plantation uses the concept of "Forest Garden Products". In this method the forests were established in the same structure and ecological function as the rain forest, but containing trees that yielded valuable products. This enabled many species of animals and birds that were once confined to the rain forest, to move in and establish populations restoring environmental stability.
Through this natural process only the environmental friendly sustainable agricultural methods are adopted with organic fertilizers, and no pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers are used.
